EC Residents can loan out EC's grills and courtyard for any function, free of charge.
The grill keys can be borrowed from EC Desk; the grills are locked up in a storage space at the South end of the East Parallel (enter from outside). Soccomm tries to stock Talbot kitchen with charcoal and lighter fluid for the grills.
Please, please, please put the grills back when you're done with them. The grills are rather nice, free of rust, and generally don't suck. The elements aren't good to them, and homeless people are always looking for things on wheels that could fetch a pretty penny over at the pawn shop.
Soccomm policy is that anyone who does not return the grills to their designated storage space shall be fined $20 if they do not return the grills within 24 hours of receiving notice from Soccomm.
Outside groups are also welcome to rent the grills and courtyard tables according to the rate schedule below. Please contact ec-soccomm@mit.edu if you're interested or have questions. Groups with members who are EC residents can reserve the grills for free through the EC residents.
# of people attending | Rate ($/hour) |
<50 | 5 |
50-100 | 10 |
100-150 | 15 |
>150 | 20 |
We have implemented a new rate schedule for larger events because of the elevated stress they place on the courtyard, EC residents, EC security, and the grills. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
