Responsibilities

As JockComm, you are responsible for attending the four yearly IM meetings. There are two per semester. One is the general body meeting and the other is the affiliation meeting. If you cannot make it to a meeting, send a proxy. Otherwise, EC gets fined. Do Not Get EC Fined. If there are any fines to deal with, the payment should be paid in cash to Bernice Ward on the second floor of the Z-center.

Jockcomm emails out to the dorm once per intramural season to state that a specific season with its corresponding sports is going to start. Because the IM program is using athleague.com[1], you must create the teams there and people join the teams. I (ptieu) usually gauge student interest by having them reply to me with what sport(s) he/she is willing to play, if willing to be the captain, and time restrictions before creating teams because there is a minimum number of people needed for each team. Once the teams are created and enough people join, each team with enough people needs to join a league within a sport. As Jockcomm, you must be on each team you created for administration purposes but you do not need to play.

Once the season starts, you should occasionally check to make sure things are going well but it is the captains' responsibility to deal with rescheduling of games and getting sufficient people to show up. If we forfeit a game, then EC gets fined. Do Not Get EC Fined. The duties of Jockcomm and the captains can be found on the MIT Intramural website[2].
